There are two types of technology used in LED televisions and they are RGB Dynamic LEDs and Edge-LEDs. RGB Dynamic LEDs allow the screen to display truer blacks as part of the picture which is great for depicting night and darkness. The downside is that small bright objects suffer from a loss of detail on the screen. Edge-LEDs use LEDs that are positioned, as the name suggests, around the edge of the screen rather than behind it. The use of Edge-LEDs has allowed the development of extremely thin televisions.
